Blogtober: A Day in My Life
So today Anniek & The Library Looter are asking about a day in my life. This should be fairly interesting – not. I’m a pretty boring person. But… I’ll do my best. Sorry, no photos, I just don’t like taking pics of everything I do. Now this isn’t going to be a “typical” day because I’m going to do today.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Wake up. I don’t sleep very well, so I often find myself awake until somewhere between 1 and 4AM even though I would rather be asleep. So I generally wake up rather late. Take my morning meds, get dressed. Head downstairs. Get my roommate Sarah, who is currently non-weight-bearing on her right foot, some breakfast, feed the pets, and then feed myself.
12:00 – 1:30PM – Errands. Run some books back to the library, check out 3 more books (Furyborn, Kingsbane, and Semiosis), then drop off my voting ballot. Put gas in the car and grab a soda, then head for home. Talk with roommates a bit when I get home, then head upstairs to my room.
1:30 – 4:00 PM – Homework, blogging, and laundry. Doing some laundry for myself and Sarah. Homework for BYU-PathwayConnect. Review my résumé for tonight’s gathering. Do the math portion of professional skills, turn in the elements of my power statement, and finish the few things for the Book of Mormon class I had to do before tonight. Then work on emails and blogging for the blog.
4:00 – 6:30 PM – Hang out with the roommates and grab dinner. I already know we’re grabbing takeout from Taco Bell because Sarah is craving it and the rest of us agree. It’s awesome because I can make my favorites vegetarian the way I like it and it’s relatively cheap. LOL
6:30 – 7:00 PM – Get ready for tonight’s gathering for BYU-PathwayConnect. I do a virtual gathering, meaning we meet online using the Zoom meeting software.
7:00 – 9:00 PM – Gathering. We’ll cover a bunch of things and chat a lot because we’re all women and we’ve become a family of sorts.
9:00 – 10:00 PM – Watch the episode of The Masked Singer my roommates kindly recorded on the DVR for me. It’s on during my gathering, so I usually can’t watch.
10:00 PM – 12:00 AM – Take evening meds, get ready for bed, and then read. I usually do about 2 hours of reading, more if I can’t sleep. But lights go out between 11:30 – 12:00 AM, because I share a room with my best friend LaShawn. This is where eBooks come in so handy, because I can read until I’m tired enough. I will read on the Kindle, Libby, Books, or Nook apps on my iPad, or I’ll pull up Libby on my phone and listen to an audiobook. Then it’s off to sleep whenever my brain and body decide it’s OK to shut down for the night.
So that’s my day today – I’ll probably never be able to record a “typical” day because living in a house with 4 other roommates means that every day is something new. But there you have it! I can’t wait to read everyone else’s day in my life posts!
Oh and if you have any questions about BYU-PathwayConnect don’t hesitate to ask!
